Mantini Sisters Biography

Known for their harmonic blend and versatility, the dynamic, award-winning Mantini Sister trio of Sandra, Barbara and Ann have been captivating audiences across Canada and the United States for over 25 years. Originally from Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, they were discovered by famed Director of Canadian Theatre, Alan Lund, who took them to the professional stage of the Charlottetown Festival in Prince Edward Island where they appeared in the Festival's production of Swing! – a revue of the Big Band Era.  Since then they have been taking the stage by storm.

Over the years, they’ve had the opportunity to work with some of Canada’s best musicians, such as renowned Canadian conductor, composer and arranger Howard Cable.  Mr. Cable began arranging and presenting the Mantini Sisters with symphony orchestras across Canada, bringing the popular sounds of the big band and rock-n-roll eras to the symphony stage with pops shows “Top Trios and Other Singing Stars” and “Big Band Swing”.

In 1997, The Mantini Sisters toured Canada and the United States in their first production,“Moments To Remember”, a  salute to the wonderful female singers and singing groups of the 1940’s, 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s, as seen through the eyes (and ears) of the “Mantini Sisters”.  This led to their first recording “The Mantini Sisters: Moments To Remember (CD)”.

With the success of their first show, The Mantini Sisters embarked on their next production, “The Ladies of Broadway”, a tribute to the leading ladies of the Broadway stage and the Golden Age of Broadway.

To celebrate their 20th Anniversary of harmony, in 2004, Sandra, Barbara and Ann released their holiday CD, The Mantini Sisters Christmas.  This led to the production of “Home for the Holidays”, featuring songs from their Christmas CD and other holiday classics.

In 2008 and 2009, The Mantini Sisters toured the United States.   They are currently planning a new CD due to be released in early 2011 and, of course, a new stage production will follow.   The best is yet to come!
